NCPR (National Customer Preference Register)

Definition

India's official do-not-call registry — formerly known as NDNC (National Do Not Call) — that lets consumers block unsolicited commercial calls and SMS by category.

Business Importance

Outbound campaigns must filter contact lists against the NCPR registry before dialing; calling a blocked number can result in regulatory penalties for both the client and the BPO partner.

Industry Examples

A predictive dialer campaign automatically excluding any number registered on the NCPR "fully blocked" list before the call list is loaded.
